OPEN MIC SESSION: Movies that are a REAL HIT
Mamma Mia was a great movie for most of my club. Even a lot of the gentlemen enjoyed it. The new James Bond movies tend to go too fast and weren't as enjoyable for the group. Posted by Karla Hynes, Apr 8, 2009 - 9:43 am We recently showed "New in Town" with Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick, Jr. and it was a hit with both male & female members. Posted by Leslie Watts, Apr 10, 2009 - 2:54 pm The most recent movies we have shown are Australia-everyone loved the movie but it is an extra long film-3 hours. Marley and Me-everyone loved this film! Posted by Valerie Kelsey, Apr 14, 2009 - 11:02 am "The Greatest Game Ever Played" was liked by both the male and female customers. Based on a true story. Posted by Cindy Blaine, May 5, 2009 - 12:49 pm Everyone was inspired by the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness", starring Will Smith. This movie is a true story of a man struggling to build a future for himself and his son. He proves that determination is the key to do well in life. Posted by Lois Reynolds, May 8, 2009 - 9:25 am A DVD of The Shoji Tabuchi Show was by far the best thing I have ever shown. Everyone was smiling and clapping for each song and they want me to show more! Posted by Janet Pasco, May 12, 2009 - 10:53 am Just showed "The Proposal" in August - it was a hit with all of my members! Betty White has a significant role as the grandmother and she is a hoot! Would recommend to anyone. Posted by Leslie Watts, Aug 25, 2009 - 3:36 pm I showed "RV" with Robin Williams to my group and they thought it was fabulous! Both the men and women liked it. It's a comedy about a dysfunctional family who rents an RV to go on a family vacation to the Colorado Rockies. Posted by Vicky Bauer, Oct 7, 2009 - 10:29 am I just showed Love Happens with Jennifer Aniston. Everyone really like the movie-more for the ladies than the men-but enjoyed by all. Bring kleenex's deals a bit with grief and some of my group had just lost a spouse but they stil liked the show. Posted by Valerie Kelsey, Oct 21, 2009 - 10:27 am March is my sentimental Tuesday month. All the movies I show that month are oldies. Their favorite : Cheaper by the Dozen, Quiet Man with John Wayne, Easter Parade with Judy Garland . Harvey with Jimmie Stewart, This is a winner with our age group of people.
